MVI94-DNP is a 3.0 master/slave communication module from DNP ProSoft Technologies. It belongs to the Flex I/O family. MVI94-DNP is a single slot module that can hold 300 user-defined commands. The MVI94-DNP’s external power supply is rated at 12-24 volts DC, while the baseboard current load is 20 mah at 5 volts. MVI94-DNP uses various forms to convey diagnostic and troubleshooting information. One of these is the LED status indicator, which is located at the front of the module and provides module status information. State data values are also transferred from the module to the processor memory, where they are monitored either manually or through user-created logic. To send or receive data through a serial port or communication port, you need a communication program.
The Allen-Bradley MVI71-MCM module is the master/slave Modbus network interface module. It belongs to the programmable Logic Controller family and is a single slot 1771 backplane compatible module. The unit is considered an input/output module with access to processor memory. This simplifies the data connection between the processor and the module. The MVI71-MCM module also features a ladder logic protocol that enables seamless data transfer from the module to the processor. The MVI71-MCM module requires a power-compatible Allen-Bradley PLC processor. For best performance, it needs at least 64 MB of memory. However, the manufacturer recommends using 256 MB of RAM for optimal function. Also, make sure it has at least 400 MB of available hard disk space and uses a 256-color VGA graphics indicator.
