The Reliance Electric device that has the model number O-57441- is the AutoMax Modbus Plus Interface module.The O-57441- AutoMax Modbus Plus Interface module is used as a means of providing a direct connection with the Modicon Modbus Plus network for the AutoMax system. The O-57441- AutoMax Modbus Plus Interface module may be placed within any slot of an AutoMax rack, so long as that rack contains at least one AutoMax processor unit. The O-57441- AutoMax Modbus Plus Interface module is able to communicate with a maximum of four AutoMax processors that are contained in the rack into which the module is connected. Also, be aware that this rack will appear as one station on the Modbus Plus network.

The faceplate of the O-57441- AutoMax Modbus Plus Interface module has a few components that make it a useful tool. There is a 9-pin D-shell connector, which is used to make the connection to the Modbus plus network by using a standard Modbus Plus cable. There are also two thumbwheel switches that are used for setting the station address of the module on the Modbus Plus network. This station address can be set with any number between 01 and 64. Be aware that the station address is often called “node number” in Modicon Modbus Plus manuals and other literature. There is also an LED display that is designed to display error codes and a small green LED status indicator that tells the user if the module is operational.
