The principle of Variable frequency Drive (VFD) is a power control equipment of AC motor by changing the working power supply frequency of motor based on the principle of frequency conversion technology and microelectronics technology. The power supply used is divided into AC power supply and DC power supply. The general DC power supply is mostly obtained by the AC power supply through the transformer voltage change, rectification and filtering. Ac power supply accounts for about 95% of the total power supply used by people.

The voltage and frequency of single-phase AC power supply and three-phase AC power supply, whether used in homes or factories, have certain standards in accordance with the regulations of various countries. For example, according to the regulations of mainland China, single-phase AC voltage for direct users is 220V, three-phase AC wire voltage is 380V, and frequency is 50Hz. The voltage and frequency of power supply in other countries may be different from that in China. If there are single-phase 100V/60Hz, three-phase 200V/60Hz and so on, the standard voltage and frequency of AC power supply is called power frequency AC.

Usually, the voltage and frequency of the fixed frequency alternating current to the voltage or frequency variable alternating current device called “frequency converter”. To produce variable voltages and frequencies, the device first converts the alternating current of the power supply into direct current (DC), a process called rectification. General inverter is the DC power supply into a certain frequency and a certain voltage inverter power supply. The output waveform of frequency converter is simulated sine wave, which is mainly used in the speed regulation of three-phase asynchronous motor, also known as frequency conversion governor. Because the frequency converter continuously detects the load current, the frequency converter can adjust the output voltage to match the load, so the motor voltage can adapt to the type of motor, follow the load changes.

The control principle of VVC+ is to apply the principle of vector modulation to the fixed voltage source PWM inverter. This control is based on an improved motor model, which better compensates for load and deflection.

Because both active and reactive current components are important to the control system, the Angle of the control voltage vector can significantly improve the dynamic performance in the 0-12HZ range, while the 0-10HZ range is generally problematic in standard PWM U/F drives.

Using the SFAVM or 60°AVM principle to calculate the switching mode of the inverter allows very little ripple in the airgap torque (compared to the frequency converter using synchronous PWM).

Users can choose their favorite working principle, or the inverter according to the temperature of the radiator to automatically select the control principle. If the temperature is below 75°C, the SFAVM principle is used to control the temperature. When the temperature is above 75°C, the 60°AVM principle is applied.
