The MVME2301-900 is a high-performance embedded computer module manufactured by Motorola and now continued by Freescale Semiconductor. The module is designed to meet OEM needs in areas such as defense and aerospace, industrial automation, and medical imaging. The MVME2301-900 provides enhanced performance features while maintaining backward compatibility with the existing VMEbus infrastructure.

High-performance processing power: The MVME2301-900 contains a 68020 CPU at 25 MHz, providing excellent processing performance for embedded computing applications that require high performance and reliability.
Memory configuration: The module has 512 KB of onboard RAM and two serial ports as well as a SCSI port, and also has two VME bus expansion slots to support storage expansion.
Scalability: Support for the VMEbus standard ensures compatibility with existing systems and offers flexible expansion options that can be customized according to application requirements.
Communication capability: The MVME2301-900 supports fiber optic communication, including plastic fiber and HCS glass fiber. When using fiber optic media converters, the communication distance can reach 1000 meters.
Internal communication: Within the cluster (base or extended), ModuleBuses are provided via MTU or S800L modules, each of which has bus pins and sockets that automatically connect communication between FCI or Modulebus modules and I/O modules.
Modular design: The Modulebus cluster can be flexibly expanded according to field requirements, but the total number of modules in the entire I/O station cannot exceed 24.
Environmental adaptability: Suitable for harsh environments, meeting the requirements of mobile machinery, the food industry and even car washing (similar to Wachendorff encoders, but this information may not be fully applicable to the MVME2301 itself).
