Overview
YOKOGAWA NFCP100-S00 S3 is a control processing node module designed by Yokogawa Electric for its flagship distributed control system (DCS) – CENTUM VP series. This module is not an independently operating device, but the key brain and heart that constitutes the core of the entire DCS Control layer – FCS (Field Control Station).
FCS is the station in DCS that is directly responsible for on-site process control (such as PID regulation, logical interlocking, and sequential control). The NFCP100-S00 S3 module plays a dual role in it: it is both a controller (executing the control logic written by the user) and a network communication manager (responsible for high-speed data exchange with the upper-level operation station and the lower-level field I/O module). It is the core hardware foundation for achieving factory automation and ensuring the safe, stable and efficient operation of the production process.

Support true 1:1 hot standby redundancy. A pair of NFCP100 modules (one primary and one backup) can be configured. When any failure occurs in the main module, the backup module can take over all control tasks without disturbance and seamlessly within milliseconds, achieving “zero downtime” switching. Vnet/IP: This is a deterministic real-time control network independently developed by Yokogawa. NFCP100 conducts high-speed and reliable data communication with upper-level human-machine interface (HMI) stations (such as HIS operator stations) and engineer stations via Vnet/IP, ensuring the real-time nature of operation instructions and process data.
