The world’s leading olive oil company relies on digital transformation to achieve its operational and sustainability goals
Siemens Opcenter software helps Deoleo reduce costs, optimize controls and increase value chain transparency
Siemens Digital Industrial Software today announced that Deoleo, the world’s leading olive oil processor and bottler, has adopted Opcenter™ software from Siemens’ Xcelerator open digital business platform to accelerate its digital transformation and build a sustainable future.
Founded in 1955 in Spain, Deoleo is a leading olive oil company with brands such as Bertolli, Carapelli, Carbonell, Koiple and Figaro. Deoleo’s corporate vision is to lead olive oil production towards a sustainable future. With high quality products and traditional processes, Deoleo adheres to a sustainable development strategy, regards corporate social responsibility as its own responsibility, and provides continuous protection for partners and the land environment.
Starting with well-established supplier partnerships embedded in sustainable agricultural practices, Deoleo shares olive oil knowledge with its partners to develop holistic solutions that promote economic success while conserving land. In order to improve operational efficiency and transparency, Deoleo decided to digitally transform its business processes, including quality control, olive oil management, and the research and development experimental environment.
Rafael Perez de Toro, Chief Quality Officer at Deoleo, said: “Our sustainability strategy and manufacturing objectives require an efficient digital system to manage the various variables in the value chain. Siemens’ Opcenter software helps us digitize production, making our production processes more flexible and efficient, giving us better control over resource management, while enabling transparent communication, reducing costs and guaranteeing traceability. Digitization also makes Deoleo’s business more sustainable, reduces its environmental impact and achieves zero waste by reducing the amount of energy produced by paper, ink and paper-based processes.”
Deoleo has partnered with Siemens partner Sothis to deploy Opcenter™ Execution Process software to digitally transform warehouse management and quality control processes across the board, while using Opcenter™ RD&L (R&D and Experimentation) software. Simplify and align all product data management to meet quality regulatory requirements for product design and processes. The integration of R&D manufacturing data and processes will greatly accelerate the entire process of product design to manufacturing.
