Recently, the “First ETAP Application Paper Competition” sponsored by Schneider Electric was successfully concluded. This competition has attracted the participation of many electrical design elites, and the participating papers have a wide range of subjects, covering many industries such as power, petrochemical, metallurgy, medical, manufacturing, and infrastructure, effectively stimulating electrical designers’ in-depth understanding of electrical systems and innovative research, and fully demonstrating the practical application and wide applicability of ETAP’s new electrical system digital twin platform in different fields. Bring a positive impact on the future development of the industry.
Through digital technology to fine manage the energy use of electrical systems, while reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions, for metallurgy, petrochemical, power and other subsectors, not only can improve the competitiveness of enterprises, but also to meet more stringent environmental requirements, to achieve sustainable development. With the rapid development of social economy, the electrical system is constantly upgraded and optimized, and at the same time, the ETAP software is constantly iterated and innovated. In order to explore the application value of ETAP software in practice, strengthen academic exchanges and technological innovation among electrical designers, and help promote the improvement and development of the technical level of the power industry, Schneider Electric officially launched the first “ETAP Application Paper Competition” in July 2023.
Since the launch of the competition, after more than 80 days of submission period, nearly 50 outstanding designers submitted entries, covering more than 40 design institutes across the country. After many levels of review, 16 excellent papers finally
stood out. Among them, “Research on Power Quality of Energy Storage Power Station Based on ETAP” (author: Wang Wei, MCC Real Estate Group Co., LTD.), “Electrical System Optimization Design of Chemical Project Based on ETAP Short Circuit Calculation” (author: Zhao Ruiping, Lanzhou Branch of Aerospace Long March Chemical Engineering Co., LTD., “Calculation and Optimization of Relay Protection in Metallurgical Industry Based on ETAP” (Author: Sun Xiaohui, MCC Oriental Engineering Technology Co., LTD.), “Research and International Application of Three-dimensional Simulation Technology for the Whole Process of Grounding Network Based on ETAP” (author: Liu Zhiyuan, Shenyang Aluminum-Magnesium Design and Research Institute Co., LTD., Research on Calculation Analysis and Design Optimization of Large-scale Energy Storage Power Station Based on ETAP Simulation (Author: Liu Liying, Northeast Electric Power Design Institute of China Power Engineering Consulting Group, and other award-winning papers detailed the superior performance of ETAP software in solving various complex problems, triggering deep thinking about the future development of electrical automation within and outside the industry.
As a global expert in digital transformation in the field of energy management and automation, Schneider Electric has been committed to driving technological progress and industry innovation, Schneider Electric ETAP electrical system digital twin platform (hereinafter referred to as “ETAP”), through the “one-stop energy management platform” for electrical systems from design, construction, operation and maintenance of virtual models. It also provides comprehensive analysis to cover the full lifecycle of digital capabilities to help improve productivity, collaboration and efficiency. At the same time, the platform can also work with the “industrial digital twin” built by Schneider Electric AVEVA and other software to deeply integrate industrial control and energy management, achieve more efficient and accurate energy management, and accelerate the efficiency and carbon reduction of the enabling industry. Recently, with its excellent digital intelligence capabilities, the ETAP electrical system Digital Twin platform also won the “2023 ‘Smart China’ Digital Pioneer Award” issued by Digital Business Times magazine.
