With the die pad function of the new Bosch Rexroth IH04 Type E standard module, engineers can use the most common switching systems. These modules are certified by DGUV testing and have standardized safety concepts that meet general safety requirements at the lowest cost. Users can selectively combine such modules with energy recovery functions while reducing the energy consumption of the die pad module.
With the die pad technology, it is possible to ensure that the plate maintains a uniform thickness during the forming process, avoiding cracks or wrinkles in the workpiece. The newly developed IH04E (IH04E) die pad module from Bosch Rexroth complements the IH04 C/D upper piston standard module. The IH04E is compatible with the most popular and advanced hydraulic die pad switch systems available today.
At the same time, as a control system, the die pad module meets the requirements for hydraulic press installation as specified in ISO 16092-3, as a “safety-related control system component”, meets ISO 13849-1, has PLe Class 4 functions to prevent accidental dropping under its own weight, prevent accidental starting from the stop position, and prevent the installation of the die pad module. As well as stopping dangerous closed movements, the safe deceleration reaches Category 3. With a DGUV test certificate, the calculation and documentation required by engineers to prove the safety of their machinery against relevant standards will be greatly reduced.
The IH04E consists of a basic module and a reversing valve for creating an “active” die pad. Basic modules provide reliable security features. Expansion modules provide pre-stretching or sustainable energy recovery prerequisites. Additional expansion modules support differential switching and load sensing.
The IH04E has a nominal size of NG10 to NG32 and a pump volume flow rate of 800 L/min at operating pressures up to 315 bar.
Bosch Rexroth offers an additional solution to protect forming machines with the IH04 Type S hydraulic overload protection system for mechanical presses. An oil pad is provided between the plunger and the machine, and the load on this pad will be reduced in case of failure. The load is reduced after only 5 milliseconds, protecting machine tools, drives and press racks in case of overload. If the plunger is under eccentric load, all connected overload protection systems trigger simultaneously. The IH04S is mounted on the oil pad of the plunger, or fixed in the center of the plunger and connected by a pipe. The overload protection system also includes a compact hydraulic power unit.
