Nideko Machine Tools Co., LTD., a division of the NIDEko Group (President: Niigani Haruhiko; Headquarters: Kurito City, Shiga Prefecture) has developed the “New Universal Milling head (hereinafter referred to as” UH “) “, one of the MVR series of five-side planer milling machine accessories, while maintaining the high output power and high-speed spindle of previous products, the size is reduced to about 80%*1 of previous products, achieving a high level of miniaturization in the industry.

The miniaturization of UH improves the proximity between the tool and the workpiece, realizes the completion of the machining surface and efficient processing under ideal processing conditions, gives full play to the characteristics of “thin and short”, and makes a great contribution to the manufacturing of molds and other products.

The UH will officially go on sale on Friday, February 2 at the company’s in-house exhibition “Large Equipment In-house Exhibition (location: Kurito City, Shiga Prefecture).”

The newly developed UH structure is more compact to increase the proximity and movable range between the tool and the workpiece, while lengthening the protruding part of the inclined shaft of the installation tool to improve the proximity between the workpiece and the use of short tools. Moreover, in machining processes requiring the use of long tools, the increased rigidity of the spindle enables a variety of machining operations from rough machining to fine machining. In addition, the improved rotation diameter and interference range allow UH to approach the wall to 220 mm, reducing the interference range between the workpiece and the workpiece, and achieving small, thin and deep corner machining.

In order to improve efficiency, the spindle speed is increased to 20 ~ 6,000min-1, the spindle output power is increased to 15kW/420min-1, and the maximum torque of the spindle is increased to 341N · m. At the same time, the non-processing time is shortened by the high-speed dividing time of each shaft, and the processing time is shortened by improving the rigidity of accessories, so as to improve productivity. In addition, the UH can be divided once per degree at high output power, thus increasing machining flexibility and can handle a variety of workpieces from heavy cutting of castings to high-precision finishing of molds.
