A pluggable CPU is composed of a CPU, a memory and a related circuit chip in a pluggable template board. A pluggable CPU includes a CPU311 template and a higher configuration template. A pluggable CPU has the following basic characteristics :- Each CPU template must be installed in slot 1 of the pluggable CPU template substrate, and slot 1 is only the size and type suitable for installing the CPU template (or some other — special template). The pluggable CPU offers wide spread and remote baseboards, so – a 25-pin D-type connection jack for expansion connections is located on the right end of the CPU baseboard for connection to expansion or remote baseboards.

Because this type of CPU is pluggable, it can be easily replaced or changed if needed – a system is only allowed to have – one CPU and must be installed on the CPU substrate, if in. If there is more than one substrate in a system, the added substrates must be of an extended or remote type that does not contain cpus. A pluggable CPU substrate defaults to rack 0, and all such cpus have a date-time display
