DS200ACNAG1A is GE’s additional resource computer network board. Better known as ARCNET, the board was created as a component of the Mark V series. GE’s fourth commercially available Speedtronic gas and steam turbine management system for heavy-duty turbines, the Mark V is a system based on a triple-redundant microprocessor that achieves extremely high reliability thanks to multiple backups of all critical control and protection parameters. It also includes a direct sensor interface, built-in diagnostics and online maintenance.

It is important to note that traditional ARCNET systems operate at a rate of 2.5 Mbps. This allows signals on the network to occur in about 400 ns. This time limits the size of the ARCNET system. In fact, the ARCNET system cannot exceed four miles in length. Much longer than that, and the system will begin to experience extended timeouts when messages are sent between nodes.

The DS200ACNAG1A has very few components on a very small circuit board. These components include four metal film resistors (R1/R2/R3/R4), two transistors, a diode, and three capacitors (C1/C2/C3). The circuit board has two openings, with metal rings cut into the cards on both sides of the circuit board. These are labeled GND1 and GND2. The center of the circuit board consists of two communication relay devices. Relay drawings are printed on the top surface of both components.
