5.5-65V wide input voltage, current mode synchronous step-down controller with analog current monitor
The PBSE5117 is a synchronous step-down controller for step-down regulator applications powered by high voltage or wide range input power supplies. This control method is based on current mode control using simulated current ramp. Current mode control provides internal line feedforward, cycle by cycle current limiting and simplified loop compensation. Noise sensitivity of pulse width modulation circuits can be reduced by using simulated current ramps to reliably control the very small duty cycles required in high input voltage applications.
PBSE5117
Operating frequencies can be programmed between 50kHz and 750kHz. The PBSE5117 uses adaptive dead-time control to drive external high – and low-side NMOS power switches. The user selectable diode simulation mode enables intermittent mode operation to improve efficiency under light load conditions. With a high-voltage bias regulator, the device can use an external biased power supply, further increasing efficiency. The PBSE5117 has a unique analog telemetry feature that provides average output current information. Other features include: hot off break rate synchronization, intermittent mode current limiting, and adjustable line undervoltage locking.
