Product technology

SNAT603CNT is used for systems that provide the necessary excitation current to the rotor windings of synchronous motors, this type of system is called excitation system. In other words, an excitation system is defined as one that generates magnetic flux through current in the field windings. The main requirements for excitation systems are reliability under all operating conditions, simple control, ease of maintenance, stability and fast transient response.

The amount of excitation required depends on load current, load power factor, and machine speed. When the load current is large, the more excitation the system needs, the lower the speed, and the power factor of the system becomes lagging.

SNAT603CNT exciter system is a separate unit in which each alternator has a generator form exciter. A centralized excitation system has two or more exciters that supply power to the bus. Centralized systems are cheap, but failures in the system can adversely affect alternators in power plants.
