Description

The 1771-P4R PLC 5 Redundant Power Supply Module by Allen-Bradley is an electrical device located in

the 1771 Chassis which increases system availability and reduces machine downtime resulting from a failed

power supply in the system. It prevents system interruption or complete shutdown of the system’s operations when

there is a power failure. The 1771-P4R has an input voltage range of 97-132V AC at 50-60Hz and provides a 5V DC output

current at 8A. The module has a N+1 design feature and the maximum output current provided by the module using N+1 at

60 degrees Celsius is 8A (for a 2-unit system), 14A (for a 3-unit system), and 20A (for a 4-unit system). Its 16W maximum power

dissipation with a 10W dissipation on the adjacent slot and with a 47.8 BTU/hr maximum thermal dissipation. The 1771-P4R

module provides a 300mA backplane current at 5V DC and is tested to withstand 1000V voltage isolation for 1 second.

1771-P4R

The 1771-P4R circuitry uses the 2.5mm2 copper wire size with 3/64-inch insulation thickness rated at 60 degrees Celsius

and is shipped with a redundancy cable. It provides a 15A branch circuit protection and it also provides circuit protection

through the 1.5A 250V AC Slow Blow fuse and with the Bussman MDL 1.5 fuse. The module has an alarm circuit with a rating

of 24-250V AC, 1/6HP, 1A, and 30V DC. The 1771-P4R has a tested working temperature range between 0 and 60 degrees

Celsius at 5-95% non-condensing relative humidity, without de-rating, and is CSA, NEMA, and UL-certified.
