Triconex 3720 Analog Input Module

The Triconex 3720 Analog Output (AO) module receives the output signal from the autonomous processor module. Each set of data is then voted on and a healthy channel is selected to drive the output. The Triconex 3720 module monitors its own current output (as the input voltage) and maintains an internal voltage reference to provide self-calibration and module health information.
Each channel on the Triconex 3720 module has a current loopback circuit that verifies the accuracy and presence of the analog signal, regardless of load presence or channel selection. The design of the module prevents non-selected channels from driving analog signals to the field. In addition, continuous diagnostics are performed on each channel
Module circuit. Any failure of the diagnostic test invalidates the fault channel and activates the fault indicator and case alarm. Open-loop detection is provided by a load indicator, which is activated if the module is unable to drive current to one or more outputs.
