The 3500 system rack design has all 3500 monitoring modules and rack power supplies. It allows each of the 3,500 modules to communicate with one another and power is allocated to each module to meet power requirements.

3500 racks are available in 2 sizes:

1. Full-size rack, 19-inch environmental impact assessment rack with 14 available module slots

2. The Mini rack, a 12-inch rack, has seven available module slots

3500 racks are available in three formats:

1. Panel Mount – This rack format is mounted into the rectangular cutout of the panel and ensure that the use of the rack provides a clamp panel. Wiring connections and I/output modules are accessible from the rear of the rack.

2. Rack Mount, this rack mount is mounted on 19 racks for 3500 inch environmental impact assessment. Wiring connections and I/output modules are accessible from the rear of the rack.

3. Bulkhead brackets are racks on which a wall or panel is mounted when it is not possible to access the rear of the rack. Wiring connections and I/output modules are accessible from the front of the rack. The 3500/05 Mini rack is not available in this format.

The power supply and rack interface modules must occupy the left rack position. The remaining 14 rack locations (7 rack locations are small racks) can be used for any module combination.
