The dual-channel rotor monitor MMS 6140 processes signals via vibration from two different vibration sensors. Channel 1 is used for sensor connection according to the eddy current principle, channel 2 is intended for connecting a piezoelectric sensor or a seismic sensor. The signals from the two sensors are used to calculate their mutual difference. By calculating the difference this signal is the absolute vibration of the rotor pin at the output of the monitor. It is measured by the MMS 6140 monitor using sensors to measure the relative vibration of the rotor works on the eddy current principle and using piezoelectric sensors to measure the absolute vibration of the bearings.
