The MMS 6140 two-channel rotor vibration monitor processes signals from two different vibration sensors. Channel 1 is intended for connecting an eddy current sensor and channel 2 is intended for connecting one piezo sensor or seismic sensor.
The signals from both sensors are used to calculate their mutual difference. By calculating the difference of these signals, the absolute vibration of the rotor pin is output to the monitor.
The MMS 6140 monitor measures the relative vibration of the rotor using an eddy current sensor and the absolute vibration of the bearings using a piezoelectric sensor.
