Each FBM233 module features a single 10/100Mbps copper Ethernet connection and a connector on the front of the RJ-45 module for connecting to dual-port Ethernet devices. The FBM233 is connected to an Ethernet switch or hub in order to communicate with one or up to 64 external devices.
A pair of modules are combined to provide redundant fieldbus module (FBM) levels. In this configuration, one FBM233 is the Master and the other is the trace module. Whether the input point on the control station updates the network connected to the Master from the input received on the device. Device output points (depending on the I/O driver) are made by the Master and Tracker modules. If a problem is detected (for example, I/O drivers cause any device to lose its heartbeat; Or you can switch the role to SMDH at any time. The general network configuration is shown in Figure .
I/O drivers
This FBM is a generic Ethernet hardware module which can load different software drivers. These drivers configure FBM to identify the protocol used by a particular device. Several of the software drivers are a standard product. Additional custom drivers can be developed to meet specific requirements. These drivers are dynamically downloaded to the FBM233 with software code specifically designed for protocol with third-party interface devices.
Configure the process and software
Each driver’s requirements are unique to the device being integrated into the system. The Ethernet link sets up the FBM233 with the field data communication equipment through the front of the FBM233 module located on the RJ-45 connector. The registered jacks – 45FBM233 connectors can be connected to an Ethernet switch or hub via a hub, or via an Ethernet switch to a field device (see “Using an Ethernet Switch”) with the FBM233 (page 7) in order to communicate with one or up to 64 external devices.
