489-P5-HI-A20-E-H is a generator management relay that is manufactured by GE Multilin for the 489 series. This relay has 5 A phase CT secondaries. The HI control power is 90-300 VDC and 70265 VAC at 48-62 Hz. The analog outputs on this relay are 4 to 20 mA. This relay has an enhanced display with a larger LCD than the basic display. A harsh environment conformal coating protects this unit from chemicals. The output status LED indicators include 1 Trip, 2 Auxiliary, 3 Auxiliary, 4 Auxiliary, 5 Alarm, and 6 Service. The generator status LED indicators include Breaker Open, Breaker Closed, Hot Stator, Neg. Sequence, Ground, Loss of Field, VT Failure, and Breaker Failure. The 489 status LED indicators include 489 In Service, Setpoint Access, Computer RS232, Computer RS485 / Auxiliary RS485, Alt. Setpoints, Reset Possible, and Message.

Accessories for the generator management relay include EnerVista 489 Setup Software, SR 19-1 PANEL, SR 19-2 PANEL, SCI MODULE, Phase CT, HGF3, HGF8, HGF8, 489 1 ⅜ inch collar, and 489 3 inch collar. Metering features include user-programmable analog inputs, speed in RPM with a key phaser input, RTD, power factor, frequency, MW, Mvar, ± MVarh demand, apparent power and MVA demand, real power, MW demand, MWh, current (phasors), and amps demand, and voltage (phasors). Additional features of this relay include flash memory for easy firmware upgrades, simulation, VT fuse failure, trip coil supervision, breaker failure, and a drawout case for maintenance and testing.
