Description
The DS3800NHVD is a PCB manufactured by GE for their Mark IV (Speedtronic) system. This system was developed for gas/steam turbine management and is built with integrated chipsets designed with two-out-of-three voting redundancies on all protection parameters and critical controls. This may minimize downtime caused by electronics failure. The Mark IV can be used to automate some procedures such as startup and shutdown, and can also monitor air, water, and fuel emissions.
The DS3800NHVD has been built with the following specifications and components:
- It is dual drilled in each corner. It also has paired drill holes in two locations on each long board side.
- It has three large ovals cut from the middle of the board
- It is alignment marked.
- It has three 4-pin headers attached to the top edge.
- It has one vertical (male) multi-pin header.
- It has three transformers. These are marked 218A4499 P2 C1.
- It has three light emitting diodes (LEDs.)
- It is built with multiple CCR (carbon composite) resistors, as well as some metal film resistors. CCR resistors include CGN-33 52 Ω 5% 20W Ni 1350W. These are wire wound resistors with axial terminals.
- It has several different types of capacitors, including Sprague paper in oil 196P104910, and Wesco 33mm 10% 2.0 8110 100 V. The Sprague capacitors are held to the board with screw-mounted clamps.
General Electric provided all technical support for the DS3800NHVD, including publications such as manuals and datasheets. These publications from the manufacturer are often the best resource for information on installation guidelines and maintenance schedules.
