Description
GE developed the DS3800NHVD1E1B to fit in their Mark IV system as a high voltage card. The Mark IV, which is a system designed for gas/steam turbine control, can automate some processes for consistent management. This includes such procedures as shutdown and cool down. The Mark IV can also monitor air, water, and fuel emissions.
Milling on the DS3800NHVD1E1B includes three oval cutouts toward the top part of the board. These ovals are placed so their long dimensions run across the short board dimension. The cutouts are parallel to each other. The board is marked (A through L) for alignment and is factory drilled in pairs, eight times around the edge of the board, including in each corner.
The DS3800NHVD1E1B has two connector points, three LEDs, and three transformers, which are each labeled 218A4499P2C1. The board has three 4-pin headers and one multi-pin connector (vertical, male.)
As a high voltage card, the DS3800NHVD1E1B uses more carbon composite resistors than ceramic-covered metal film, but the latter still show up on the board. CCR resistors vary from banded yellow, purple, black, gold medium sized resistors to the large CGN-33 52 Ω 5% 20W Ni 1350W wire wound resistors located at the bottom of the board. These six resistors alternate with six Sprague 196P104910 capacitors (paper in oil.) The DS3800NHVD1E1B makes use of several other smaller capacitors as well.
The DS3800NHVD1E1B also has some surface wiring connecting PTHs labeled for that use. The PTHs are labeled “1Wht” or “1Blk” and are connected with a like-colored wire.
