The DS3800NHVD1E1E is a PCB developed by GE for the Mark IV series which is designed to function as a high voltage card. The Mark IV was created for steam/gas turbine management. It can automate some procedures for consistent management, including shutdown. This series can also be used to monitor water, air and fuel emissions.
Oval cutouts have been milled out of the top half of the DS3800NHVD1E1E. The cutouts are placed so their long edges sit parallel to each other and to the short board side. The DS3800NHVD1E1E is marked A-L on its top edge for alignment. It is factory drilled in eight pairs, once in each corner and along the long board edges.
Components on the DS3800NHVD1E1E include two connector points, three transformers (218A4499 P2 C1,) three LEDs, three 4-pin headers, and one multi-pin vertical connector.
The DS3800NHVD1E1E is built with various resistors of differing values, but–as a high voltage card–it favors carbon composite resistors (CCRs.) Included in this category are six black CGN-33 52 Ω 5% 20W Ni 1350W resistors. These are located along the bottom edge of the board, in line with six Sprague (paper in oil) 196P 104910 capacitors. The Sprague capacitors are connected to the board using screw-mounted clamps. Smaller capacitors are used on the board as well.
The DS3800NHVD1E1E incorporates surface wiring from PTH to PTH. Three black wires and three white wires connect labeled PTHs.
GE provided technical support for the DS3800NHVD1E1E. This included publications like manuals and datasheets that were distributed to the end user.
