The IC670CHS001 is a terminal board module in the Field control family, formerly manufactured by GE Fanuc and now manufactured by Emerson Automation. The module is equipped with a barrier type terminal board that accommodates signal wires to and from electrical loads and signal devices. It provides modular connectivity because the module allows managed I/O modules to be removed and inserted without removing existing wiring connections.
The IC670CHS001 also provides backplane communication because the module has embedded connectors that connect to adjacent terminal board modules. The terminal board module is capable of accommodating up to two (2) modules, supporting both discrete I/O and analog I/O modules.
IC670CHS001 has 37 end contacts. Each terminal can accommodate up to two (2) wires in the size range #14 (2.1 mm2) to AWG #22 (0.35 mm2). The applicable wire insulation class is 90 degrees Celsius and the recommended tightening torque is 8 inch-lb. For ground terminal wiring, the applicable wire size is AWG #14(average 2.1mm2 cross section) and must not exceed 4 inches or 10.16 cm in length.
This junction box module supports horizontal DIN rail or panel mounting. With IC670CHS001, hot swap can be achieved in non-hazardous application areas when appropriate bus interface units (BIUs) are installed, especially BIUs with firmware version 2.1 or later. For the connection of one or more terminal bases, the compatible preassembled cable used is IC670CBL001. In addition, the auxiliary terminal board can also be connected to this module to provide additional grounding, signal loop, and signal common connections.
GE Fanuc Field Controller IC670CHS001 is a barrier type junction box that can accommodate up to a maximum of field control modules. It supports communication between modules connected to the backplane and acts as an endpoint endpoint for connecting external field devices. They support the installation of two modules. These modules are mechanically secured to the GE Fanuc IC670CHS001 I/O base to avoid accidental disconnection due to device vibration. The I/O base terminal board comes with a protective barrier to prevent contact with adjacent cables and short circuit when connecting or disconnecting devices. Two of the terminals (labeled terminals A and B) are used for power connections, and the remaining 35 are used for individual terminal connections. Terminals can accommodate AWG #14 (2.1 square mm) to AWG #22 (0.35 square mm) cables. GE Fanuc IC670CHS001 I/O dock with keys to avoid incorrect connections of additional I/O modules. Once these additional modules are placed in the correct position, they can be mounted onto the base by pressing them firmly against the base. It is always necessary to tighten the module’s screws to the base to prevent vibration from disconnecting the module from the I/O base. Manufacturers recommend a maximum torque of 8 to 10 pounds per inch.
