The GE Fanuc IC693CPU351 is a CPU module with a single slot. The maximum power utilized by this module is 5V DC supply and the load required is 890 mA from the power supply. This module performs its function with a processing speed of 25 MHz and the type of processor used is 80386EX. Also, this module must operate within the ambient temperature range of 0°C –60 °C. This module is also provided with a built-in user memory of 240K bytes for entering programs into the module. The actual size available for user memory mainly depends on amounts allocated to %AI, %R and %AQ.
The IC693CPU351 utilizes memory storage such as Flash and RAM for storing the data and is compatible with PCM/CCM. Other internal register quantities available to this CPU are 1280 bits of binary global memory; 4096 bits of memory coils; 256 bits of temporary output coils; 128 bits of system status references; maximum of 32640 words of register memory and 28000 Words of system registers which can be used for reference table viewing only.
This modular CPU is configurable to communicate and perform I/O data exchange between I/O expansion or Remote I/O baseplates. Specifically, Seven (7) and / or I/O expansion or remote I.O baseplates. For communication with visualization systems such as Human Machine Interface (HMI) or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) and other automation devices, the IC693CPU351 is provided with Three (3) Serial ports. One (1) serial port is located on the power supply connectors supporting SNP/SNPX slave while Ports 1 and 2 supports RTU slave, SNP / SNPX master/slave protocols. Installation of communication modules is also supported by this modular CPU.

The IC693CPU351 CPU does not support an embedded Ethernet port but there are 3 built-in serial ports on the CPU module. Optional communications modules available for the IC693CPU351 CPU include the Profibus, GBC, Ethernet, GCM and GCM+ modules. Floating-point math functions are supported by the IC693CPU351 CPU. A key switch is also provided on the IC693CPU351 CPU. A sequential event recorder is also available on the module. The internal coils on the module are rated at 4096 bits and the output (temporary) coils are rated at 256 bits. The power requirements of the IC693CPU351 CPU is 5 Volts DC voltage and 890 milliamps of current. A battery-backed clock and override are available on the IC693CPU351 CPU. The operating temperature range is 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
