The IC693CPU372 module is designed and manufactured by GE Fanuc. This industrial communication module is intended for communication over the industrial Ethernet network that is operating through the TCP/IP protocol. The unit is compatible with GE PLC devices that are available through Series 90-30 or the VersaMax series, or with PLC devices that are part of the PACSystems. The IC693CPU372 module has an integrated interface for Ethernet communication and it can be used with host computers that have all the necessary installed software tools. The Ethernet interface supports up to 3 different Series 90-30 modules that can provide additional capabilities. The backplane of the programmable logic controllers from Series 90-30 can use the combined modules to improve the performance of the complete system.

The GE Fanuc IC693CPU372 is a TCP/IP Ethernet Communications module. Like the CPU374 model, this module is

designed to work with the Series 90-30 system. The IC693CPU372 Plus enables TCP/IP communications with a range

of devices and controllers through its built-in enhanced Ethernet interface. This includes all Series 90, PACSystems,

and VersaMax PLCs as well as host computers running the Host Communications Toolkit or CIMPLICITY software

. It can also communicate with computers running the TCP/IP version of the programming software. Its Ethernet

processor speed is 200 MHz. This Ethernet interface also has SRTP server capability. This enables it to respond to

requests from devices such as PLC programming software, a Host computer that is running an SRTP application,

or else another PLC acting as a client.

The embedded Ethernet interface in this module can be joined by a maximum of three Series 90-30 Ethernet

Modules – all can be installed together in the Series 90-30 PLC backplane. The CPU372 PLUS has a numb

er of Ethernet features that make it a flexible and powerful component, such as full PLC programming and

configuration services and the ability to let users operate it through remote PLC monitoring from a web brow

ser. The interface has two auto-sensing 10Base T / 100Base TX RJ-45 shielded twisted pair Ethernet ports

. These allow the user to connect it to either a 100BaseTX IEEE 802.3 network or a 10BaseT network. Each of t

The IC693CPU372 Central Processing Unit belongs to GE Fanuc Series 90-30 line of CPUs. It is a single-slot CPU

module with an embedded Ethernet interface. It is based on a 386EX processor that can provide fast computation

and increased functionality. The IC693CPU372 Central Processing Unit can handle up to 4096 I/O discrete points,

2048 analog input points, and 512 analog output points. This module is compatible with a range of field busses and

device networks such as the Genius, Profibus-DP, DeviceNet, Interbus-S, and CsCAN networks. Its internal power

requirement is 1.4 Amps at 5 Volts DC. It has 0.15 microseconds of rated execution time per Boolean instruction.

The IC693CPU372 Central Processing Unit is embedded into the backplane. It has built-in 10/100 Mbps Ethernet

ports, one RS-485 port, an STRP channel, and web diagnostic facilities. This CPU module supports a variety of

communication option modules including the Serial-SNP, SNPX, RTU and CCM, LAN-Genius, and Ethernet Modbus

TCP Client/Server modules. It comes with a battery-backed clock. It does not support a hand-held programmer module

. The type of memory storage available in this IC693CPU372 module is RAM or Flash memory. Its processor speed

is 133 megahertz and the processor is an AMD SC520 processor. There are 8 total baseplates per system with 1

CPU baseplate and 7 expansion baseplates. It has communication and programmable coprocessor compatibility.

The configuration and programming of the CPU module can be done through the Proficy Machine Edition Logic De

veloper software package. The CPU supports hardware floating-point math and can be used for entry-level applica

tions with low I/O counts.

The IC693CPU372 is a TCP I/P ethernet communication interface. This module is mainly used to enable communi

cation over ethernet network and support system protocols such Modbus TCP Server / Client and Industrial Ether

net. This module can be used to periodically perform data exchange using Ethernet Global Data (EGD), SRTP a

nd SRTP client.

The IC693CPU372 supports full PLC programming and configuration services. It comes with Dual Ethernet ports

that share the same IP Address and functions as an internal Ethernet switch, allowing Daisy chain connection of f

or networking and implementation of Device Level Ring (DLR) topology. Each port supports network auto sensing,

eliminating the need of assigning the module to speed of the existing network.

The IC693CPU372 is equipped with a dedicated processor with clock speed of 133 MHz. For configuration, a built-

in web server allows remote connection of a configuration station which can be utilized for introducing simple configur

ation to the module as well as module monitoring. For programming of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) function

, the IC693CPU372 is configured using the Machine edition of PLC Logic Developer of the Proficy Machine Edition software packages.
