Labeled as a Standard Mark VI Controller the IS215UCVEH2AB model was designed as 6U high, single/double slot, single board computer that is typically used for operating the turbine application code. The location of this model is in a VME rack with twenty-one or thirteen slots. When located in the control module it will communicate with the other turbine I/O boards through the VME bus. The typical operating system that is used with this board is QNX. The QNX system is a multi-tasking, real-time OS system which is designed for highly reliable and high-speed industrial applications.
One important note regarding the model IS215UCVEH2AB is that it is just one of three controllers that are used within the Mark VI system, this model can replace other controllers but will typically require an upgrade regarding the backplane. The model can replace an ICVB model but when doing so an Ethernet cable upgrade is a must.
When the controller is being used with products such as this it has a specific execution time which is up to one hundred thousand black or rungs per second. When using a specific type of application software the software can be modified online without a restart being required.
The IS215UCVEH2AB model is just one of the variations of the UCVE controller.
