  • The TTURH1C terminal board is used to mount the pack. Two 10/100 Ethernet ports, flash memory, RAM, a read-only chip for identification, an internal temperature sensor, and a reset circuit are all on the processor board.
  • Auto-reconfiguration is available on the IS220PTURH1A, which will automatically download from the controller to the I/O pack. Baseload, bootloader, firmware, and settings are all reconfigured. This can only happen if auto-reconfiguration is enabled. The Component Editor in the Toolbox ST program can enable or disable this.
  • The IS220PTURH1A features four magnetic speed inputs that are passive. The circuit sensitivity can detect a 2-RPM turning gear speed to see if the turbine has ceased spinning (turbine has stopped.) The pack’s median speed signal is used for speed control as well as the principal Overspeed trip signal.

Product Description

The IS220PTURH1A is a component created by GE for their Mark VI system.  The Mark VI is one of the final Speedtronic systems for gas/steam turbine management that was released by GE.

The IS220PTURH1A is a Primary Turbine Specific Primary Trip pack.  This component provides an electrical interface between a turbine control terminal board and either one or two Ethernet networks.  Outputs from this pack occur through a DC-62 pin connector that connects to an associated terminal board.

The IS220PTURH1A is built with a black outside casing with openings for air circulation.  The front of this case has multiple LED indicators, as well as an IR (infrared port.) This port is not used in this pack.  Inside this casing, there is a processor board, a second board specific to turbine control, and an analog acquisition auxiliary board.   The pack mounts to the TTURH1C terminal board. The processor board has two 10/100 Ethernet ports, flash memory, and RAM, a read-only chip for identification, an internal temperature sensor, and a reset circuit.

The IS220PTURH1A allows for Auto-reconfiguration, which will automatically download from the controller to the I/O pack.  The reconfiguration includes baseload, bootload, firmware, and parameters. Auto-reconfiguration must be enabled for this to occur.  This is enabled or disabled in the Toolbox ST application through the Component Editor.
