National Instruments PCI-5412 Arbitrary Waveform Generators are 100 MS/s arbitrary waveform generators with 14-bit resolution and up to 256 MB of onboard memory, integrated into a compact single-slot 3U PXI module or a single PCI board. Since the Annie 5412 uses the PCI bus to communicate with the host, waveforms can be downloaded at up to 84 MB/s, much faster than traditional GPIB-based instruments. With the NI 5412 generator’s Synchronization and Memory Core (SMC) architecture, users can create mixed-signal test systems by synchronizing the generator with digitizers and digital waveform generator/analyzers, or synchronize multiple arbitrary waveform generators to form Phase coherent multi-channel generator.

The National Instruments PCI-7342/7344 also provides contouring for complex movements. The onboard CPU uses an embedded real-time operating system with event-driven multi-task control. With this approach, several motion control programs and processes can run simultaneously on the controller, independent of the host computer, with no external interaction unless the host program or user configuration initiates it.
