This module is incompatible with traditional NI-DAQ legacy driver software. When the PXI-6251 module is used with compatible NI-DAQmx driver software, there are many benefits. NI-DAQmx features automatic timing, triggering, and synchronous routing to simplify complex applications, numerous free software downloads to help users get started, and a programming interface for analog output, analog input, digital I/O, and more. NI-DAQmx allows users to select the fastest change rate based on the speed of the ADC, and the fill time between each channel is 10 μs for satisfactory build up time. This plan enables the channel to be close to synchronous testing and still allows for sufficient base time. If the sampling clock frequency AI is too fast to allow a connection of 10 μs, NI-DAQmx will select the conversion rate so that the AI conversion clock pulse is evenly divided throughout the sample. In addition, all ai/ConvertClock pulses are ignored at PXI-6251 until ai/SampleClock pulses are detected. After the gadget gets the correct number of ai/ConvertClock pulses, it ignores subsequent ai/ConvertClock pulses until it gets another ai/SampleClock. The recommended warm-up time for the equipment is 15 minutes and should be calibrated at least once every 2 years.

The standard 3U PXI device weighs 7.8 oz. The recommended operating temperature ranges from 0°C to 55°C
