The PXI-7854R (Part number: 780342-01) is part of the R Series of Reconfigurable I/O (RIO)

devices by National Instruments. This module has a sample rate of 750 kS/s for every channel,

a Virtex-5 LX110 FPGA, 16 bits resolution, ±10 V input and output signal range, eight analog input

channels, eight analog output channels, and 96 DIO channels. The three I/O connectors on this

module are 68-pin female high-density VHDCI type. The NI PXI-7854R is 6.3 by 3.9 inches without

connectors and weighs 152 grams. The small size and light weight ensure that this module

can be carried anywhere the user requires it with ease.

The PXI-7854R (Part number: 780342-01) is part of the R Series of Reconfigurable I/O (RIO)

The National Instruments PXI-7854R has a channel-to-earth maximum working voltage of ±12 V

and channel-to-channel maximum working voltage of ±24 V, Measurement Category I.

An important note to keep in mind is that the NI PXI-7854R cannot be used for linking to signals in

Measurement Categories II, III, or IV. In addition, this RIO device meets the safety stipulations for

electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use of the IEC 61010-1, EN 61010-1 and UL 61010-1, CSA 61010-1 standards.

The Virtex-5 LX110 FPGA permits the user to set the functionality and timing of the PXI-7854R module.

The functionality of the FPGA can be modified in LabVIEW by utilizing the LabVIEW FPGA Module to

generate and download a custom virtual instrument (VI) to the FPGA. With the FPGA module, the user

can graphically design the timing and functionality of the PXI-7854R Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Module.
