Equipped with Intel Core Duo processor T2500 (2.0 GHz dual-core)CPU, 667 MHz front-end bus, and 512 MB dual-channel 667 MHz DDR2 RAMPXI National Instruments -8105(Part number :779917-01,779917-00,779918-00,779918-01, 779918-02) is a high performance embedded controller for PXI systems. The controller is equipped with abundant hardware resources, making it ideal for intensive applications. The integrated processor PXI-8105 has two computing engines, or cores, in a physical package.
The integrated dual-core processor in the controller can perform two computing tasks simultaneously. This enables the execution of two applications such as Microsoft Excel and NI LabVIEW. However, this feature can only be used in environments where multiple applications can run in parallel, such as Windows XP. The Ni PXI-8105 integrates Intel’s 945GM high-speed chipset for maximum flexibility, performance and stability. In terms of its I/O capabilities, the model features four high-speed USB ports, one serial port (RS232), one GPIB (IEEE 488) controller, one 10/100/1000 BASE-TX Ethernet, one ExpressCard/34 slot, and one watchdog/trigger SMB.
In its default configuration, the PXI National Instruments-8105 comes pre-installed with Windows XP Professional. However, this embedded controller also allows the installation of user-defined or multiple operating systems. By using the ExpressCard/34 slot, users can also add another gigabit Ethernet port to their system. The NI PXI-8105 has two SO-DIMM slots and can be upgraded to 4 GB. For its deployment, this model requires a system slot and three controller expansion slots. The device weighs 2.1 pounds. , measuring 3.2 x 5.1 x 8.5 inches.
The device runs on Ni-Daq hardware drivers that are compatible with NI application software/application development environments such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and Measurement Studio. The device is also compatible with the NI modular instrument package, which offers specialized drivers such as Express Vis, Ni-RFSG, Ni-RFSA, NI switches, DMM, high-speed DIO, and more.
