The goal of the A400 series is to provide a high performance camera meeting the most stringent requirements in resolution, speed and image quality. This goal is achieved through the use of an advanced four-megapixel sensor and a unique camera backend, a combination that offers brilliant image quality and the possibility of fast pre-processing. Ensuring reliable, consistent quality, A400 variants are 100% quality checked and calibrated. All of this makes the A400 camera an extremely versatile and reliable tool for many applications.
All A400 cameras contain a high quality CMOS sensor with 2352X 1726 active pixels. While the speed sensor of the most common CCD is limited to 15 fps, the A400 variant offers a better maximum frame rate:
• A402k/kc – 24 fps full resolution
• A403k/kc – 48 frames per second at full resolution
• A404k/kc – 96 fps full resolution
• A405k/kc – 167fps at 2320 x 1726
• A406k/kc – 209fps at 2320 x 1726
The A400 series sets new standards with outstanding performance and image quality comparable to CCD cameras. Extraordinary image quality comes from the use of advanced CMOS sensors and sophisticated electronic design. Three different image enhancement functions can further improve image quality:
• Column shading correction to remove fixed pattern noise
• DSNU shading correction to eliminate dark signal inhomogeneity
• PRNU shading correction removes photo responsiveness
The lack of blooming or smearing of unevenness is another plus point on a camera with a CCD sensor. Missing codes are not a problem
The A400 and Image are very similar in this respect. The fast FPGA used in the A400 camera enables onboard options for preprocessing and allows the implementation of individual algorithms adapted to customer needs
