The 5201-MNET-ASCII ProLinx Modbus TCP/IP to ASCII Universal Serial Gateway creates a robust connection between devices on a Modbus TCP/IP network and ASCII input devices. This self-contained DIN rail mountable protocol gateway provides one Ethernet port and up to four ASCII configurable serial ports. Modbus TCP/IP protocol drivers can interface many different protocols to Schneider Electric Quantum processors and other solutions that support the protocol. The MNET driver supports client and server connections and also provides a web/ftp interface when used in conjunction with the web option. The 5201-MNET-ASCII protocol driver allows the module to connect to many ASCII devices. Each 5201-MNET-ASCII port on the module can be configured to send and/or receive ASCII strings, and each port supports its own serial network.

The 5201-MNET-ASCII module is an ideal solution for many applications where a Modbus TCP/IP connection can be used to integrate ASCII general purpose serial input devices into the system. Combined with ASCII device support, this module provides a very robust interface to many ASCII input devices used in the industrial market today.
