MVI69E-MBTCP is a Modbus TCP/IP enhanced communication module. It must be installed with a compatible power supply and have at least one (1) free slot in the CompactLogix rack.

The MVI69E-MBTCP has a power distance rating of 4. When used with CompactLogix 1769-L43 and 1769-L45, install MVI69E-MBTCP in the first two (2) slots of the 1769 bus. The MVI69E-MBTCP is equipped with one (1) RJ45 communications port and supports 10/100 Base-T Ethernet data rates. It also requires the use of ProSoft configuration Generator and ProSoft Discovery service.

MVI69E-MBTCP supports client and server connections. It can be used to connect various Modbus-enabled devices. It has an I/O size of 60/120/240-16 bit integers with 10,000 words of data available. It supports floating point data movement, as well as Enron, Daniel, and other floating point data implementations. It supports MODBUS functions, such as 1: read coil state; 2: read the input status; 3: read hold register; 4: read the input register; 5: Force (write) single coil; 6: preset (write) single hold register; 8: diagnosis (only slave machine, response sub-function 00); 15: Force (write) multiple coils; 16: preset (write) multiple hold registers; 17: Report from ID(only from); 22: Mask the write hold register (slave only) and 23: Read/write hold register (slave only).

The module is shipped with jumper closed. Used as an input and output communication module between Modbus TCP/IP networks. The MVI69E-MBTCP can communicate with Modbus-compatible devices or as a communication module between the bus network and the CompactLogix backplane. You are advised to use Category 5 or higher cables for Ethernet connection.
