Tricon 4329 Network Communication Module

With the Type 4329 Network Communication Module (NCM) installed, Tricon can communicate with other Tricons and external hosts to terminate Ethernet (802.3) networks. Nonconforming products support many Triconex proprietary protocols and applications as user-written applications, including those using the TSAA protocol. The NCMG module has the same functionality as the NCM, as well as the ability to synchronize time GPS systems based on time. For more information, see the Tricon Communication Guide System.

NCM provides two BNC connectors as ports :NET 1 supports peer to peer and time synchronization protocols for secure network composition Tricons. NET 2 supports networking to external systems using Triconex applications, such as trstation 1131, SOE, OPC Server, and DDE servers, or user-written applications. Module. The external host can read or only write data to the Tricon variable which alias numbers are assigned. (See “Communication Modules” on page 29 of “Enhanced Intelligence” for more information about aliases.)
NCM supports Ethernet interface (IEEE 802.3 electrical interface) and runs at 10 megabits per second. The NCM connects to the external mainframe via coaxial cable (RG58), typically up to 607 feet (185 m) away. Distances up to 2.5 miles (4,000 m) are available with Repeaters and standard (thick mesh or fiber optic cable). The main processor typically refreshes the data on the NCM with each scan.
