3008n Main processor module
The Tricon V10 main processor subsystem uses three 3008N MP modules to control the three branches of the system. Each 3008N MP module operates independently, with no shared clock, power regulator, or circuit. Each 3008N MP module controls one of three signal processing branches in the system, each branch contains two 32-bit processors. One of the 32-bit processors is a dedicated, leg-specific I/O and communication (IOCCOM) microprocessor that handles all communication with the system I/O module and the communication module. The second 32-bit main processor manages the security control program and executes the main processor module level system diagnostics for all programs. Between the two 32-bit master nodes the processor is dedicated dual port random access memory (RAM), allowing direct storage access to data exchange.

The model 3008 main processor (MP) is available for Tricon v9.6 and later systems. For detailed specifications, see the Planning Installation Guide for the Tricon system. Three MPS must be installed in the main box of each Tricon system. Each MP communicates independently with its I/O subsystem to execute a user-written control program.
