Woodward’s speed detection device 8237-1596. It is part of the Protec-Gii series and can work with turbines of any size that are driven by water, gas or steam. It uses two redundant relays and a two-thirds voting architecture. The triple modular design can sense and safely shut down a turbine if it accelerates excessively in an unsafe way. The Model 8237-1596 is also equipped with Modbus communications and was designed with ease of integration in mind. This product uses high and low voltage power input partition mounting.
