8280-206 723 Speed Control/Generation

The set point for this 723 Digital Speed Control is programmed and adjusted using a handheld programmer, also manufactured by Woodward (Part No. 9907-205). The programmer plugs into one of the 8280-206 serial ports for direct, menu-driven access to the control’s setpoints. These setpoints are then stored in permanent memory, eliminating the need for external power sources for data retention.

There are two speed signal inputs on the 8280-206 controller, the speed input voltage is 1.0 to 50 Vrms. The 723 speed controller has both discrete and analog inputs. The eight discrete inputs have a response time of 10 ms ±15%, and the four analog inputs have an accuracy of 0.5% of full scale. The same level of accuracy applies to the analog outputs on this controller.

723 Speed Control Model 8280-206 is designed for installation in locations where the operating temperature range is –40 to +70 °C (–40 to +158 °F) and the humidity does not exceed 95%. The acceptable temperature range during storage is –55 to +105°C (–67 to +221°F).
