Part 8280-467 is a DSLC Digital Synchronizer and Load Control compatible unit in the 723PLUS series, a line of speed controllers manufactured by Woodward. This model is one of the 723PLUS versions that is designed for use with low-speed (rated at 130 rpm or less) reciprocating engines. The 8280-467 is a high voltage (90 to 150 Vdc) speed control model.

All four of these reciprocating engine, DSLC compatible speed controllers are covered in the same product manual, 723PLUS Digital Speed Control for Reciprocating Engines—DSLCTM Compatible Installation and Operation Manual Product Manual 02878.The two-speed signal inputs on 723PLUS model 8280-467 support the use of proximity switches or magnetic pickups (MPUs). Proximity switches may be used for speed signal frequencies below 1000 Hz. If MPUs are to be used, operating speeds must provide a minimum magnetic pickup frequency of 400 Hz.
