The 723PLUS 8280-480 is programmed using either Watch Window PC software or a handheld programmer (Woodward part 9907-205) via a LON channel. There are additional communication channels on this controller, some of which are configurable. 723PLUS Digital Speed Control for Reciprocating Engines— Analog Load Sharing Installation and Operation Manual 02879 has more information on the communications options, including compatible Woodward accessories, such as a Modbus master device.
There are four models of the Woodward 723PLUS Analog Load Sharing Digital Speed Control. Part 8280-480 is one of the two that are designed for engines rated at 130 rpm or less. This controller is the low voltage, low-speed model.Because the 8280-480 is a low voltage model, it meets EMC Directive 89/336/EEC compliance, as well as ABS 2007 Steel Vessel Rules 1-1-4/7.7, 4-2-1/7.3, 4-2-1/7.5.1, 4-9-3/17, 4-9-7/13, 4-9-2/11.7 & 4-9-4/23.
