Manufactured by Woodward Company ProTech 203 series overspeed protection device, 9905-751 is a power trip type. The device uses three speed sensing units, each of which interfaces with a separate magnetic sensor (MPU) to monitor the speed of the prime mover. These nearly identical units are configured for hardware 2 out of 3 voting. The prime mover speed is sampled every 5 milliseconds, with a maximum system response time of 40 milliseconds. Cells A and B have 24Vdc input, while cell C has 120 Vac/dc input.
The three speed sensing units are in a NEMA 4X certified housing that is keylocked. Type 9905-751 can only be programmed using a key lock. Adjustable parameters and other programming specifications and descriptions are provided in ProTech 203 Overspeed Protection System Manual 85196.
