The winning bid for the PT.Indah Kiat Pulp&Paper Tbk (IKPP) plant is one of the oldest and currently the largest pulp and paper plant owned by Sinar Mas Paper. Located in Indonesia, the plant includes a chemical pulp production line, multiple paper machines, chemical and water treatment sections with a huge demand for on-site instrumentation, valves, DCS control systems and analytical instrumentation. Since its establishment in 1976, the IKPP plant has gradually expanded its production scale, and its DCS control system has been dominated by European and American manufacturers. The winning bid has achieved zero breakthroughs in the application of the DCS control system in IKPP’s project, and has also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation in the renovation and new construction projects of other plants and plants of Golden Paper.

Since 2020, the China Control Technology Indonesia team has closely followed the project of the plant and developed a strategy of “using the renovation project as a breakthrough to introduce the ECS-700 control system into the IKPP plant”. This cooperation is the first project breakthrough with IKPP factory after the cooperation with Sinar Paper Pindo and Lontar factories, which is an important milestone in the cooperation between Sinar Paper and Sinar Paper in factory automation, and also injected new impetus to the rapid expansion of the international market of Sinar technology. With the growing demand for industrial automation technology in the global paper industry, the central control technology will usher in a broader space for development.
