Numerical control systems specialist NUM has further strengthened its position in China by opening its second branch in the country.
As a leader in high-end numerical control technology, NUM is represented in almost all industrialized countries around the world. In addition to its headquarters in Torfaen, Switzerland, the company currently operates 13 strategically important facilities worldwide, as well as an extensive network of branch offices and customer support organizations.
In China, NUM has so far only operated a subsidiary in Shanghai. The addition of a second branch – in Guangzhou, southern China – means the company will significantly increase its presence in the region. The branch will provide customer-centric sales and application development and enhance customer support services.
Guangzhou is the capital and largest city of Guangdong Province, about 120 kilometers (75 miles) from Hong Kong. The region has a large number of private companies engaged in high-end specialty machine tool manufacturing, which is a potentially large market for the custom technical CNC solutions NUM offers.
“With a branch office in Guangzhou, we can now respond more quickly to our customers’ needs and further expand our market presence.” The Guangzhou branch of the Shanghai headquarters will be managed by Mr. Lu Guobing.
Asia Director Adrian Kiener and Longwei Jiang set up a branch office in Guangzhou, South China. The office is located in Huangpu District, Guangzhou, a business district with modern office buildings. By opening our Guangzhou branch, we are taking full advantage of the market growth potential. At the same time, the China team expands our capabilities in sales, service and after-sales support, “added Mr. Kiener.
NUM believes that the Pearl River Delta, as a region pursuing high-tech applications, will vigorously develop the high-end numerical control market in the future, and the high-end numerical control technology and application potential is huge!
