Energy-intensive and heavy industry companies need trusted partners and solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve operational efficiency while improving energy efficiency, safety, resilience, availability and reliability. Schneider Electric, Sword Software and Shell have joined forces to create an enhanced, integrated solution for customers with a scope and scale that neither of them can achieve alone. From advanced process modeling, simulation and advice to plant-specific zero-carbon solutions, complementary capabilities in consulting, technology, digitization and energy will directly impact the future of the industrial sector.
Targeting the cement industry first, the new alliance is committed to reducing carbon emissions by up to 15% in a typical scenario, helping customers achieve a more efficient transition to renewable energy. Reduce energy consumption by increasing the accuracy of process analysis, improving dynamic process simulation technology, and improving the digital integration of rotary kiln and mill grinding processes.
Under the strategic partnership, Schneider Electric and Kenv will provide integrated digital engineering, operational process and energy optimization technologies, as well as deep expertise in sustainability, to support the design, construction and efficient operation of a growing number of carbon-neutral facilities. In addition, the two companies will help customers develop production plans to optimize the value chain and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Shell will provide end-to-end sustainable energy
supply solutions, global project engineering capabilities, large renewable energy generation and asset portfolios, and a broad range of industry sustainability solutions.
Harry Brekelmans, Shell’s Director of Projects and Technology, said: “Shell companies are committed to the ambitious goal of zero carbon emissions. This partnership marks a crucial step towards that goal. Shell, Schneider Electric and Sword Vision will work together to explore potential opportunities in digital solutions, technology, sustainability consulting and energy supply capabilities to develop end-to-end integrated energy solutions that will empower themselves and more industries to achieve zero carbon.”
Jean-Pascal Tricoire, Chairman and CEO of Schneider Electric, said: “Working together is essential to reduce carbon emissions, not only to the benefit of all parties involved, but also to accelerate the global energy transition. Drawing on the deep strength and expertise of Shell, Schneider Electric and Sword Vision, we will create innovative and sustainable solutions to help achieve the zero carbon goal.”
Peter Herweck, chief executive officer, said: “We are pleased to deepen our partnership with Shell once again, having seen significant gains in safety, reliability and efficiency from many previous successful partnerships, and we will continue our efforts to achieve energy transition and sustainable development.”
