Description

1、 Features of Tricon

To ensure the highest integrity of the system at any time, the TRICON sis system has the following characteristics:

It is equipped with triple combined redundancy structure, and each of the three identical system branches can independently execute the control program. Moreover, it is equipped with special hardware/software mechanism to “vote” on input and output. Can withstand harsh industrial environment. It can be installed on site and can be used for module level 1 repair when the controller is online. The replacement of I/O modules will not disturb the field wiring. It can support up to 118 I/O modules (analog and digital) and optional communication modules, which can be connected with Modbus host and slave, FoxboroHoneywell distributed control system (DCS), other TRICONs in Peer to Peer network, and external hosts in 802.3 network.

—-Combined support is available, which can support remote I/O modules located within 2 km (1.2 miles) away from the main frame.

—-The control program can be executed, which is written according to relay cascade logic and is evolved and debugged by an independent workstation called TRISTATION.

—-The input and output modules are equipped with intelligent functions to reduce the workload of the main processor. Each I/O module has three microprocessors. The microprocessor of the input module filters and demodulates the input, and diagnoses the hardware fault on the module. The output module microprocessor provides information for voting the output data, checks the loopback data from the output terminal to make the output last valid, and can diagnose the problems of the field circuit.

—-Routine maintenance can be carried out during normal operation of TRICON without disturbing the controlled process.

—-It can support the use of “hot plug spare parts” I/O modules in critical times, and provide emergency response when it is impossible to repair them immediately.
