Description
A repeater is used to extend the network distance in a local area network (LAN) environment. However, it is not a network interconnection device and operates on the physical layer of the OSI. The repeater amplifies and regenerates signals on the network and extends the length of LAN network segments. The repeater can only work effectively within the delay range specified in the network standard, otherwise it will cause network failure.
