As you can see from the name, the 709-1 option supports

both master and slave, while the 840-4 option

supports only the slave protocol.

The Devicenet options for ABB industrial robots are 709-1 Devicenet Mastre/Slave and

840-4 Devicenet AnybusDevicenet protocols.

The robot signal board (such as DSQC652) is recognized by the robot CPU through this protocol,

and this protocol requires the support of software options. Devicenet protocol options are 709-1 Devicenet

Master/Slase and 840-4 Devicenet Anybus Slase.

1. If it is a virtual system, select 709-1 Devicenet Mastre/Slave when creating a system.
