IISAC01 Analog Control Station (SAC) provides process loop control and monitoring functions for a single loop. The analog control station receives and sends information to and from the Harmony controller via the CIO-100 control I/O block, the IMCIS12 control I/O module, or the IMQRS12 Fast Response module. It includes functional stations that were not available in earlier digital controls:
■ Additional analog input display with square root options.
■ High resolution bar chart display.
■5 or 40 kbaud serial link.
CIO-100 blocks have onboard microprocessors that control and perform functions of the following operation blocks:
■ Network communication.
■ Analog and digital input/output processing.
■ Station link communication.
■ Block diagnosis.
■ Status report.
In addition to these functions, the microprocessor is also responsible for performing part of the I/O block control configuration. A complete control configuration consisting of linked functional code always resides and remains in the Harmony controller. The controller turns off only a portion of the load configuration, performed by individual I/O blocks. Function codes are predefined fixed function algorithms. The controller interfaces with the control I/O block using the following functional codes :I/O Device Definition (FC 221).
■ Analog input/channel (FC 222).
■ Analog output/channel (FC 223).
■ Digital input/channel (FC 224).
■ Digital output/channel (FC 225).
