Application field

The CPU board contains the microprocessor and RAM memory, real-time clock, LED indicator, INITpush button, and CompactFlash interface.
The PM865 controller has two RJ45 Ethernet ports (CN1 and CN2) and two RJ45 serial ports (COM3 and COM4) on the baseplate for connecting to the control network. One of the serial ports (COM3) is an RS232C port with a modem control signal, while the other port (COM4) is isolated and used to connect to configuration tools. The controller supports CPU redundancy for higher availability (CPU, cex bus, communication interface, and S800 I/O).
The high integrity functionality is achieved by adding the SM81x module and SIL certification software. This allows non-critical control schemes to be upgraded to SIL certification schemes by adding the plug-in SM81x module and selecting the appropriate software. The AC 800m High Integrity also offers IEC 61508 and TUVcertified control environments that combine security and business-critical process control in a single controller unit without sacrificing safety integrity.
